This is a fundamental topic for naturism. A modest nudist is not an oxymoron. You can definitely be nudist and modest. Actulally by definition of naturism (Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature characterized by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment), naturism and modesty are totally compatible.
Now, naturists represent all kind of people too. You will have people who like to be seen and others who don’t. Shall we put all eggs in the same basket therefore? Non naturists have preconceived ideas about naturism and the only way to get rid of those is to become a naturist, or at least try.
Have a good read of the full article,
An acquaintance and I had a discussion maybe two months ago and the title question was the subject of our discourse. I’m unsure as to how the topic arose, but he was adamant that “there is no such thing as a modest nudist.” He continued his tirade with the statement that all nudists are closeted exhibitionists so the two cannot be compatible. I work with this individual and he is aware that in my leisure time, I am a bare practitioner (naturist/nudist).
